Welcome to my blog, my name is Paul ‘Oxo’ Oxborough and I’m one of the founders of the charity which was established in March 2020. This blog aims to tell day to day stories of my work with Mental Health Motorbike. I will document this via a series of virtual tours which allow you to be emersed into some of the locations I visit.

I will take you to some of our events, presentations, meetings and rideouts. Through creative use of 360 cameras you will be able to see photos, listen to videos, access audio and scroll around to find exciting things hidden in the virtual tours. Let me know if you like these by leaving a comment and tell us if you like us to feature an event we attend.

Poland – March 2025

Poland – March 2025

There is always a sense of irrational anxiety when  I'm about to leave for another big international project. A few years ago I was doing quite a lot of these so I was jumping on  aeroplanes like getting a taxi. Normally I get a hotel the night before a flight to make...

A dip back into international work.

As many of you know a big part of my day job over the years has been international youth education, but since setting up the charity this has been much reduced. I've really missed the work but not the travelling and hotels.   On the 6th of March I will be flying to...

One of my highlights as a Charity Trustee is going out and meeting our wonderful teams of volunteers. A chance to catch up, hear their plans and help resource them to do the life saving work they do. Paul joined the team last year and after a difficult illness we are...

The low-cost game changer: How hybrid working can really elevate mental health support

It's easy to dismiss online tools like Teams and Zoom as cold and impersonal. But if we pause and look at what they do, they truly enable, they are a low-cost game changers for delivering meaningful and positive mental health support. I want to share two stories illustrating how we’ve embraced a hybrid approach to deepen community engagement and...

A Full Stress Container

This was a difficult piece to write but I hope if one person can resonate with the post and feel they too aren't alone it was worth writing. What does a full stress container look like for someone who seemingly has everything to be happy about? Let me talk about it from my perspective, I have a good life, a lovely house, a loving family and good...

Darley Moor Bike Night – Derbyshire

A trip to Kent for an appointment with the Police – 15/4/25

There is something very exciting knowing you've got a guarenteed 8 hours riding time on your motorbike. I was off to Kent to do a presentation with Mandy Stephens (one of our Trustees) and Bob Cannell (a MHMB volunteer) to the country's best and most skilled police motorcycle bike instructors. These guys are some of the best and most highly skill...

Friday Thoughts – 10/4/25

We are midway through April 2025. Does anybody else think this year is going exceptionally quick? I'm struggling to fit everything in to it, important stuff like contacting family, doing DIY jobs on the house, thinking of my own fitness. This blog post is about me recognising where my priorities lie and being proactive in doing something about...

Lakeland Wildlife Oasis Hub Launch – March 2025

It was dry and having followed the weather forecast at the start of the week believe me this was a bonus. My journey started at 5am and I was very excited to be heading out on the bike. What I wasn't prepared for was the temperature 4 degrees! Freezing!!! Fortunately my Keis heated jacket and bar grips were cranked up to full and the fun began!...
